Statue erected by the state of Guanajuato. It was sculpted by Enrique Jolly.
1818-1865

Born in San Pedro, Guanajuato. Magistrate of the Superior Court of Justice and several times governor of the state of Guanajuato. As Minister of Foreign Affairs during the regime of President Juárez, negotiated the Teaties of Soledad. He died in New York City.

This very large sculpture is directly east of the statue to Manuel Doblado. It does not have any markers or inscriptions of any kind, however it is the work of Salvador Andrade Valdivia from 1990.
