This church stands as the first Minneapolis Methodist Church founded west of the Mississippi River. It has been the site of several Annual Conference sessions and twice Methodist bishops have been consecrated at its altar. Having brought scores of members to Methodism over the years, having established 10 other churches in the city, Wesley is known as, "The Mother Church of Minneapolis Methodism."
