Inscription.

————————————————

In 1945, a fire destroyed completely the funicular and caused major damages to the Louis-Jolliet house. The funicular was rebuilt and fitted with a fire-resistant metallic enclosure. In 1978, it was replaced with a windowed-cabin to offer passengers a panoramic view of lower town and the majestic Saint Lawrence River.
