| | 1879 Henry Pfeiffer | |
The decorative faηade, with elaborate stone window surrounds and stone quoining, invites comparison to the fancy sugar pastries and candies sold here from 1879 to 1909 by Henry Pfeiffer, a confectioner from Braunschweig, Germany.
Henry Pfeiffer's family sold the confectionary shop in 1909 to merchants Polski and Shapiro for $8,000. The two men opened a clothing store that later became known as The Hub, which continued as a men's clothing store until 1980.
