Inscription.
The West Military Compound
You are now standing in the west military compound some of which lies buried in the field behind you. To your left. opposite the main gate, is the Headquarters building. There is a small underground chamber which is thought to have been a strong-room.
Of the other buildings in the compound. two have been used as workshops at some time. A series of hearths and tanks associated with iron-work were found, along with a deposit of spear-and-arrow-heads.
Immediately inside the main gate is a small building which was built before the compound wall but later incorporated into it. Its size and shape suggest that it was a temple.
