Regarding Darío Díaz. On October 2, 1915 the town of Pueblo Nuevo was attacked by around 700 armed men on horseback. The men were most likely ex-members of Villa's revolutionary forces that had been beaten at the Battle of Celaya in August. Some ten men from the town died while attempting to defend their homes. The town was sacked and most valuables stolen. In 2015 this and other markers were placed to mark the locations where the men of the town fell in its defense.
