Regarding Juan Raya Méndez and J. Merced Sandoval. On October 2, 1915 the town of Pueblo Nuevo was attacked by around 700 armed men on horseback. The men were most likely ex-members of Villa's revolutionary forces that had been beaten at the Battle of Celaya in August.
