1. Antioch Cemetery Marker
Inscription. Antioch (an'~te~ok') was an ancient Biblical city and a chief center of early Christianity. Today, many churches and cemeteries throughout the United States use the name. Once called Glover's Graveyard, the earliest recorded burial is 1794. Antioch Cemetery is an important resting place for loved ones in Blount County, including veterans from most American wars. The fourth Sunday in May is designated as "Decoration Day' as families and friends gather to honor the memory of loved ones.
