To General Manuel Cepeda Peraza
In the time of the Franco-Austrian Empire, he made this humble abode the cradle of the Republican Revolution of 1867. This memorial marker is dedicated to him by the Students Circle of this capital.

Regarding General Manuel Cepeda Peraza. Manuel Cepeda Peraza was a Mexican army general, active in the Caste Wars but best known as a defender of the republic and supporter of Benito Juárez. Later he was governor of Yucatán. Born in the city of Merida, Yucatan in 1828, he died in the same place in 1869.
