2. Jacksonian Hotel. This stately three-story brick structure contained 38 rooms with baths plus the beautifully appointed dining room and lobbies, an efficient kitchen and utility rooms, making a total of fifty rooms. With the passing of time and the advent of the convenient new motels which have become the new overnight accommodations for travelers, the Jacksonian like so many of its counterparts,
became a non-profit establishment. Even though two valiant efforts were made in its last two years to save it as an attraction of past grandeur, it officially closed its doors on March 20, 1973. In October of that year, razing began and the well-known Jacksonian Hotel passed into history. (Submitted on March 20, 2019, by Cosmos Mariner of Cape Canaveral, Florida.)
