Ejemplo de las formas neoclásicos de la arquitectura civil novohispano. Primero en usar pilastras colosales en México. A partir de 1824 fue sede del gobierno del estado, el ayuntamiento, supremo tribunal de justicia y la legislatura. El 16 de septiembre de 1910, se inauguró el reloj en fachada. En 1950 se remodeló el interior.

An example of the Neoclassical form of the civil architecture of New Spain. First building to use colossal pilasters in Mexico. From 1824 it was the seat of the state government, the City Council, the Supreme Court of Justice and the Legislature. On September 16, 1910, the clock on the facade was inaugurated. In 1950 the interior was remodeled.
