When the campus was dedicated in 1926,the Parade Ground had none of the live oak that grace its borders today. Most of these trees were planted by Steele Burden, LSU's landscape designed from 1931-1970.

Please help us preserve LSU history by picking up after your pet and refraining from wearing cleats or using tent stakes or glass on this historic, open greenspace.
