This graveyard is believed to have been in use from the 7th century. The earliest surviving memorials date from the 1630s. The graveyard contains 281 memorials but many more people are known to have been buried here. A map of all memorials is located inside the graveyard.

Erected by the Freshford Graveyard Group, Kilkenny County Council, and the Heritage Council.
