Regarding The First Oxxo Store. The first Oxxo convenience store opened here in Monterrey in 1978 and continues operating after 40 years. The chain is now the third largest corporation in Mexico (after Telcel and Corona). Oxxo is much more important to Mexicans than a normal convenience store in the US. At an Oxxo it is possible to buy snacks and beer, but also to send money, pay bills...even buy bus and airplane tickets!
