1. Early Garage Marker

Inscription. Built in the early 1930s by Phillips Petroleum, it was the city's first full-service garage. West of the gas station, it was brick with a wood-framed vaulted ceiling. It was leased to "Hoot" Gipson who operated an auto repair shop and 24-hour wrecker service. He also provided parking to Hotel Seville guests. In 1974, Phillips sold the garage to Wm. W. & Virginia Gregg. In 1998 it was purchased by Gordon and Kandy Gregg Webb as an annex to Kandy's law office in the former gas station.
