Dedicated in Honor of Claven Wood
During the restoration, Mr. Wood made the decision to preserve a small portion of the neighboring Republic Theater, a historic venue from U Street's Black Broadway era.
He owned and operated Wood's Auto Repair, between 1982-2002.
Since retiring, Mr. Wood has continued to provided local entrepreneurs with opportunities to realize their dreams on U Street.
