Regarding Francisco Leyva.
Statue erected by the State of Morelos by sculptor Ricardo Ponzanelli.
(1839 - 1912)
He was born in Jilotepec de Abasolo, Mexico. He fought with the Central and Eastern Army against the French invaders, and was in command of the guerrillas that harassed the imperialist troops in 1867. Having fought for the founding of the State of Morelos, he occupied its first governorship in the year of 1869. He died in Cuernavaca.
