1. Main Street Ferry Landing Marker
Inscription. During the late 1800s, Poughkeepsie’s waterfront south of the bridge was lined with factories and warehouses, including the Vassar Brewery and Foster Lumber Yard. The Main Street ferry landing is right of center.

Location. 41° 42.635′ N, 73° 56.54′ W. Marker is in Poughkeepsie, New York, in Dutchess County. Marker can be reached from Parker Avenue (New York State Route 9G) ¼ mile east of Washington Street (New York State Route 9G), on the left when traveling east. Marker is mounted at knee-level on the south railing of the old Poughkeepsie-Highland Railroad Bridge, about 9/10 mile west of the Parker Avenue parking lot for Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park.
