1. Site of John and Elizabeth Smith Farmhouse Marker

Inscription. Mrs. Elizabeth Smith owned more than 400 acres of land in this vicinity. She donated two acres of land to build a one-room cabin in 1846 known as the Buck Schoolhouse. The validity of her land title was questionable, for when she sold the remainder of her holdings in 1856, part of the school property went along with it.
