1. Site of Appel House Marker
Inscription. The original log house at 2217 Lackland Road was built in 1830. The two-story frame house was built in 1900 by Jacob Wagner, son-in-law of Appel. Originally the area contained about 23½ acres, twenty-two of which were sold to the Meadowbrook Country Club, leaving 1½ acres on which the house stood.
