1. The Stephenson Family Marker
Inscription. During the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s this English family’s highly charged dog act became one of the most popular attractions ever to command center ring on Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey. In addition to Lucy, the family’s matriarch, the act included daughters Florence and Diana, sons Patrick, Frank, and William. Lucy’s brother-in-law. Harry, and as many as 22 talented canines. A versatile, talented family, the Stephensons also doubled up, appearing as “The Riding Saxons” on the same bills as the dog act in an outstanding display of horsemanship.
