Hermitage in Donelson in Davidson County, Tennessee — The American South (East South Central)
Horse Barn, c. 1890s
[Clover Bottom Farm]
The Prices first used Clover Bottom as their summer home, but later spent more time here as the years passed and as Mr. Price's health declined. John W. Thomas, who served as President of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition at Centennial Park in 1897, worked for the Prices and oversaw the horse breeding operations here during this period. In the 20th century, the barn had some of its horse stalls converted for milking stalls when the farm housed a dairy operation.
