1. Court Square Saved Marker
Inscription. Court Square was almost sold to developers in the 1870s to pay back debts incurred in the yellow fever epidemics. It was almost sold again in the early 1900s for a skyscraper, and still again in the 1940s for parking.
 
Erected 2003 by Center City Commission. (Marker Number 49.)
