Location. 40° 40.614′ N, 121° 24.532′ W. Marker is near Old Station, California, in Shasta County. Marker can be reached from Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway (California Route 44), on the left when traveling west. On Route 44, 1.8 miles south of the Hat Creek Rim Scenic Viewpoint, there is a turnout on the right side of the highway. Park here and walk about forty yards on a dirt road to the marker.
