1. DeBerard Family Ranch Marker
Inscription. This vineyard was founded by Wilford H. DeBerard, an early Rancho Cucamonga rancher. In 1910, Wilford built a house on this site and established vineyards. The family became instrumental in establishing the Cucamonga Pioneer Winery and served as a member of the Cucamonga Vintage Company. His sons, Harry and Art, and grandson Robert, managed the ranch after Wilford's death. In 1994, a fire partially destroyed the ranch house. The house featured a gable roof with shake cedar shingles and exposed rafters. Prior to this development, a wide variety of trees were interspersed throughout the site including peaches, citrus, avocado, apricot and a small group of vineyards.
