1. Schofield Marker
Inscription. Major General Schofield, with the IV Corps, to which were attached the XXIII Corps (Stanley) and Hatch's Cavalry Division, started north from this area toward Columbia, to avoid being outflanked by the Army of Tennessee (Hood), advancing from the southwest.
