Inscription.

to 1883, twelve years after the death of the Seigneur and belonged to Louis Dominique Fortin. After the death of his wife Elizabeth Boult, he married Adelina Bélair who then sold the house to Alex Sauriol. In 1917, Mr. Cyrille Lefebvre bought it from Sauriol and stayed the owner until he died in 1966.

Mr. Lefebvre was very close to the Papineau family. He worked for the family and over time he came to have a collection of objects and letters from the family. He was also keeper of the funeral chapel. After his death in 1966, his collections were given to Canadian archives.

The house is on Notre-Dame street, however before the municipality changed the name of the village streets in 1912, the road was called "rue des Ormes" (or Elm street), as it was named by Seigneur Papineau. Many major transformations were made to the house in 1994 and in 2003. The exterior has not been altered.
