1. Slater Mill Marker
Inscription. Slater Mill was America's first successful water-powered cotton spinning mill. For a small fee, tour the mill and learn how Samuel Slater and local craftsmen created machines that spun cotton into thread. Explore the Wilkinson machine shop and see a working water wheel. At the Sylvanus Brown House, discover what domestic life was like in the late 1700s.
