Location. 41° 49.198′ N, 120° 45.796′ W. Marker is near Davis Creek, California, in Modoc County. Marker is on Crowder Flat Rd (Forest Road 73), on the right when traveling south. Trails West Inc. provides directions to this marker: From Marker A-36, return to FS Route 73. Turn left. Go 4.2 miles to the intersection with FS Rd 48N08. CoRd 181 ends at this junction. Turn left. From the intersection, go 4.4 miles south on FS Route 73 to Fletcher Creek. The marker is at the right edge of the road just before a concrete ford of the creek. Along the way, pass FS Route 136 to the right of the travel route.

Regarding South Road - Applegate Trail. The Applegate Trail route between Markers A-36 and A-37 is approximate and no visible trail remnants remain today. Trails West Inc. mentions this section of the trail followed Fletcher Creek heading west/southwest and crisscrossed multiple times over the creek to avoid rock rims.
