This tree dedicated by the Veterans Administration in 1976 to America’s Medal of Honor recipients who helped make this Bicentennial celebration possible
“By gallantry above and beyond the call of duty.”

Regarding Medal of Honor Memorial Tree. Honoring both the Medal of Honor and the 1976 Bicentennial, the tree was probably killed when Hurricane Sandy flooded the area in 2012 and the plaque removed during the area renovations.
