1. Union Regiments at Scottsville Marker
Inscription. Seven regiments of infantry and one artillery battery encamped at Scottsville in November 1862. These regiments made up the 12th Division of the Army of the Cumberland under the command of General Ebenezer Dumont.

Among the soldiers at Scottsville were a future U.S. president, Benjamin Harrison (70th Indiana), a future governor of Indiana, James A. Mount (72nd Indiana), and two U.S. congressmen, Ebenezer Dumont and Milton S. Robinson (75th Indiana).
