Inscription.
The plunge pool was adjacent to the second sawmill and textile mill. Constructed of massive ironstone blocks, the plunge pool was designed to protect the mills from flood and erosion. After power the wheel, the water was collected in the plunge pool and funneled through a stone-lined channel back into Pond Creek to flow harmlessly downstream away from the complex.
