1. Maria Thomas Daviess House Marker
Inscription. This house has been the residence of two Mercer County literary figures. It was built in the mid 1800s by Maria Thompson Daviess the author of “The History of Mercer and Boyle Counties”. Elizabeth Pendleton Hardin, who penned “The Private War of Lizzie Hardin”, spent the last years of her life here. Long time home of the J. Eli Brown family.
