"Being in a pageant gave me so much confidence about myself. I knew that I could get up in front of groups of people singing, speaking, anything, and I had confidence about myself…I feel that when people see the girls on stage, they're looking at them as that person, not as an object. I don't feel that the pageants at all in any way exploit women…What difference is there in getting ready for the Olympics, or training himself for football, baseball, or basketball season."
