Inscription. From early settlers and lumber raftsmen, to row boat guides, steamboat captains and modern-day tour operators, love for this unique stretch of the Wisconsin River runs deep as its history. Tourism remains the driving economy for the waterway. Today, leisure cruises, jet boats, amphibious duck tours, and kayaks all navigate these waters. Through the ingenuity of man, Wisconsin Dells is ever-changing, and the tug-of-war between progress and maintaining the area's natural beauty continues. The sandstone cliffs stand sentinel along these banks, as the entrepreneurial spirit lives on and the beloved Dells continues its journey through time.
