1. Joliet's First Sidewalks Marker
Inscription. Joliet's first sidewalks were of stone or wood. Stone from these bluffs was cut and laid on both sides of Bluff Street which was then 5' wider. Rev. J.H. Prentiss, organizer of the Presbyterian congregation, made his first home nestled here under the bluffs. This is the last remaining slab from the sidewalks along early Bluff St.
