Inscription.
This plaque is dedicated in memory of those who served in the U.S. Merchant Marine during World War II and in particular to those who did not survive “The Battle of the Oceans”.

Their dedication, deeds and sacrifices while transporting was material to all war fronts made final victory possible

To those Merchant Mariners and their families who shared their sacrifices and final victory, we, their surviving shipmates dedicate this memorial with the promise that they will not be forgotten.
