1. The 1907 Lamp Shop Marker
Inscription.
The 1907 lamp shop will be the first building renovated and opened as the National Lighthouse Center & Museum.

High ceilings on the first floor will allow for the installation of a 100 seat auditorium/theater. The building will also contain the museum reception area and store.

The u-shaped building is built around a large, south-facing courtyard that provides an opportunity to create a memorable entry floor. Upstairs are large rooms, shallow-vaulted ceilings and high floor heights that will provide excellent exhibit spaces.

According to construction documents, the first floor was designed for machine shops, blacksmith shops and packing rooms. Both the second and third floors were used for showrooms, storage and various machine, tin and lamp shops.

Erected by National Lighthouse Museum.
