Dedicated on this Saturday, October 11, 2014, to Willis and Barbara Herron, original owners / founders of the World’s Tallest Thermometer.

Facts:
Built in 1991, 134 feet tall, representative of the world's hottest recorded temperature on July 10, 1913 in Death Valley, CA, 134 degrees.
Rebuilt in 1992 after it fell.
Sold in 2000.
Herron's widow, Barbara Herron, regained ownership and repaired thermometer in 2014, dubbed "The Big Fix".
Re-lit on July 10, 2014

6. Thermometer Fell
When it was new, the thermometer fell during high winds and crushed the gift shop. It was designed to be flexible, but now it’s more solid. This photo is displayed in the gift shop.
