Inscription.

John served as judge to the 8th Judicial Circuit in Illinois 1862-1870
Elected to the Illinois Supreme Court 1870-1888
One of the founders of the McLean County Historical Society in 1892

John considered Sarah his equal and life partner.
They were laid to rest with their only children Samuel Perry Scott and Sarah Davis Scott.

Their estate made provision for the John M. Scott Health Care Trust Fund, which is responsible for the care and treatment of all who need it regardless of age, race, sex, or economic status
