1. Pure Water from Many Sources Marker

Inscription. Water to nourish the City of Los Angeles now comes hundreds of miles via two great aqueducts — from the Owens River of the high sierra and the Colorado River — as well as locally from the Los Angeles River basin, original source of the old Zanja Madre (Mother Ditch)that flowed nearby. This fountain can serve you pure water from any of these resources.

Erected 1964 by the Department of Water and Power, City of Los Angeles.
