1. The Life-Saving Station Marker
Inscription. This structure was erected in 1903 to replace the original Life-Saving Station built in 1878. It remained an active Unite States Life-Saving/United States Coast Guard station until decommissioned in January 1969. Subsequently, the station was moved approximately two hundred yards from its original location by the City of Virginia Beach to be restored and preserved as a memorial 'to those who served." The structure is a Virginia Historic Landmark recorded on the National Register of Historic Places.
 
Erected 1984 by The Virginia Beach Arts & Humanities Commission.
