The regiment participated with the Army of
the Potomac in all its campaigns, as well as in
Sheridan's Campaign in the Shenandoah Valley, 1864.

(Back, Caption on Relief):
On the site of this monument the regiment under command of Lieut. Col. T.B. Hamilton charged the enemy and recaptured two guns.
