1. Alicia Nichole Titus Marker
Inscription. This marker placed in remembrance of United Airlines Flight Attendant and longtime Champaign County resident Alicia Nicole Titus, 28, who was killed when United Flight 175 became the second airplane to crash into the World Trade Center (South Tower). Miss Titus grew up in the Urbana and St. Paris area, graduated from Graham High School, attended Urbana University and graduated with honors from Miami University. Her family, her church, her community and her friends choose to honor her name by spreading the message of "peace, justice, forgiveness and hope," which was the essence of Alicia's life and what she stood for. The credo by which she lived her life could be summed up by the Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi, "Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love…" found on her bed stand.
