Inscription. In 1889, Battle Ground Academy was established on a site east of Columbia Avenue in Franklin, Tennessee. In 1902, the campus moved across Columbia Avenue, and there remained until 2003. The school is presently on this Glen Echo campus, the school's third location.

It is the intent of this Legacy Walk to preserve the heritage of Battle Ground Academy, and to honor the Legacy of Leadership which is a vital part of its long history. The artifacts found here commemorate the legacy former generations have passed along to those who follow. They are reflective of the spirit, tradition, commitment, and honor that sustain the school still today. Let us be reminded of and never forget the importance of these virtues and these individuals to the future of Battle Ground Academy.
