1. Williamsburg United Methodist Church Marker

Inscription. This is the fourth Methodist church building in Williamsburg, occupied in 1964. The site of the first, which was little more than a barn, is not known; the second (1842) stood in Market Square, the third (1926) in Merchant Square. Prominent pastors include four who later became bishops: William McKendree (1808), Holland McTyeire (1866), John Granbery (1882), and C.P. Minnick (1980). At the dedication of this plaque (2004), the church had 2,100 members.

Erected 2004 by Williamsburg United Methodist Church, given in memory of James W. Patterson (1934 - 2003).
