Inscription.
Stones River National Battlefield preserves key portions of the ground where one of the most important battles of the Civil War raged from December 31, 1862 through January 2, 1863.

You Are Here at the Stones River Battlefield Entrance
Follow the entrance road one mile to the visitor center where museum exhibits and a short video reveal the histoFy of Stones River National Battlefield. Trails start outside and lead to places on the battlefield.

Maps are available inside to guide you along the battle tour road and to more distant points of historic interest. Park rangers and volunteers are in the visitor center to answer your questions.
