Convento y Templo del Carmen
Este conjunto religioso se construyó en 1698 con la finalidad de cubrir las necesidades espirituales de generadas por el proceso de evangelización y por la presencia de los españoles que llegaron a habitar el territorio del antiguo Tollocan, "montaña del Dios Tolotzin".

Los primeros religiosos que llegaron a Toluca en 1524 fueron de la orden franciscana, años después llegaron los Carmelitas Descalzos, quienes hacia 1694 solicitaron el permiso correspondiente para construir un templo y convento para su orden. En 1720 este convento se convirtió en la "sede del colegio moral" de los Carmelitas Descalzos.

Los numerosos conflictos políticos, militares e ideológicos que sucedieron a lo largo del siglo XIX … hasta las Leyes de Reforma … ello 1883 …

This religious complex was built in 1698 in order to meet the spiritual needs generated by the process of evangelization and the presence of the Spaniards that arrived to inhabit the territory of the former Tollocan, "Mountain of God Tolotzin.”
