Inscription. Home of the Browns of Howard County, descendants of the original settler Thomas Browne (the Patuxent Ranger) who was commissioned in 1692 to survey this area of then Anne Arundel County.
 
Erected 1994 by Terra Mariae Chapter, Maryland State Society, National Society, Colonial Dames XVII Century.
