Inscription. To assure an adequate supply of workers, the Orange Growers Association and Lemon Growers Association partnered to build housing for Mexican workers. They constructed 34 small homes for families and two barracks for single men on this site. At times as many as 200 people lived in the community. In later years, the homes were sold to individuals and many were occupied well into the 1970's.
